How do I change a Position's Status to Field Closed if a Member Quits and the Opening is not backfilled?

This rare use case addresses the need to Properly reflect the Status of a Position as Field Closed if the sole Member on a  Position quits.  In this use case:

Overall Opening Status for the sole Opening = Early Exit: Quit

The Opening is not marked as backfill (example the person serves for 2 weeks, then quits and the Partner decides not to backfill the Position

In this instance, you can not cancel the Position as doing so would affect payroll/billing.

1. On the Openings related list, select New Opening.

1. Choose the Funded Opening Record Type.

2. Click Continue

1. Enter the Appropriate Start and End Date.

2. Click Save

Doing so creates an opening the Overall Opening Status is not equal to = Early Exit: Quit, because of this, as long as the end date is in the past, the Position Status will change to Field Closed.
